When we started KMMA Media, we wanted to support, create, and encorage a certain type of podcast.
It took us a bit of thinking, but we have settled on this:
Podcasts that encourage curiosity and laughter.
We also wanted to write down our ethos… the things that are important to us. This way, if other podcasts want to join us, we can easily say… “Cool! Check out our Ethos and make sure you agree!”
This will help make sure all our creators are on the same page and will let our listeners know what sort of network we are, what sort of values we have, and -basically- what sort of people and causes we support.
We do not have to agree on everything. We can argue passionately about things like pineapple on pizza, who has the best tacos in town, which direction to roll the t.p. But, we do need to agree on a few fundamental things to make sure that our community is the sort of community we want.
So here we go:
Science is real. (This includes climate change.)
Women’s rights are human rights.
Black Lives Matter
We support full equality and justice for the LGBTQ+ community. (Yes, that includes the Transgender community.)
No human is illegal.
You do not need a god to be good.
If you agree with these things, I am sure you will be happy in this space we have created.
