Pages and Popcorn Podcast

Once upon a time in Podcast Land…

… a team of book and movie nerds made a podcast about movies based on books. They made dozens of episodes and were very proud of what they had accomplished.

But then life happened (as it so often does) and everyone’s time and energy was zapped to the point of being unable to continue.

Perhaps the team will reassemble someday and create more “movies based on books” content for your listening pleasure. (Let’s face it: Hollywood loves to adapt things!)

But until that day comes, Kaylia has decided to resurrect the PPP feed and use it for weekly book reviews. She is still a book nerd after all, and she loves writing her book review blog.

Also, so that she doesn’t have to change the name of anything, she will attempt to tell you one interesting popcorn fact in every episode.

Author Interview and Review: George M. Johnson / All Boys Aren't Blue PagesAndPopcornPodcast

Back from another unplanned hiatus… this week I bring you a review and author interview. What you are about to hear is an interview that I did with Chris Jarvis as part of our It's A Queer Thang podcast when we interviewed George M Johnson, author of All Boys Aren’t Blue, which is an amazing memoir and has the delightful distinction of being one of the most challenged and banned books in the US. This interview was recorded in August of 2023 and released in September of that year. However, I felt that as the book is still on the top of so many lists (banned and challenged lists as well as lists of queer books you should totally read), I thought it was worth a repost. If you want to hear the full Queer Thang episode, which includes an interview with PEN America about the lawsuit that authors like George M Johnson are still a part of, you can find the link below.
